The US Fish and Wildlife Service is prequalifying contractors to rehabilitate the Finns Point Rear Range Light, a historic 95-foot wrought iron tower at Supawna Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in Pennsville, NJ.

The rehabilitation will include repair and replacement of loose or deteriorated metals and struts; removal of loose and/or peeling paint; rehabilitation of the entrance portico; repointing of the granite base; treatment of rust and deteriorated surfaces on wrought iron; and priming and painting of the entire exterior, including the struts, tower, top observation platform lantern, roof and gutter system and lantern. The estimated magnitude of construction for this project is between $25,000 and $100,000.

Historic Preservation Standards
The range light is listed on the National Register of Historic Places; the project will therefore follow the Secretary of Interior Standards for Historic Preservation. The tower was built in 1876 and last recoated in the early 1980s.

The solicitation will use a multi-step technical evaluation/proposal process as outlined in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 15, and the ultimate contract award will be based on a "Best Value Continuum."
