Bredero Shaw has also received a contract for anode procurement and installation as well as custom coating. Work will begin during the third quarter of 2012.
The work will be performed at Bredero Shaw’s facilities in Kabil, Indonesia, and Kuantan, Malaysia. The coating plants were built to process large, complex projects in the Asia Pacific region.
Houston-based Bredero Shaw, the largest division of ShawCor Ltd., is the world’s largest pipe coating company, with 4,000 employees and contract personnel in 15 countries. The division provides specialized coating systems and related services for corrosion protection, insulation and weight coating applications on land and marine pipelines.
About the Project
The Ichthys Project involves gas from the Ichthys Field, in the Browse Basin about 200 km (124 miles) offshore Western Australia. Gas extracted there will undergo preliminary processing offshore to remove water and extract condensate.
The Ichthys gas export pipeline will transport production from the offshore central processing facility through a subsea pipeline to an onshore LNG facility to be located at Blaydin Point in Darwin, Northern Australia.

| The project will involve more than 550 miles of pipeline. |
The project is expected to produce 8.4 million tons of LNG and 1.6 million tons of LPG annually, as well as about 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.
The pipeline coating contract, with Mitsui & Co. Ltd., follows a letter of intent announced in November.
